Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go visited Zamboanga City Medical Center last October 13, 2018, Saturday for the launching of the 14th Malasakit Center. The Malasakit Center is a one-stop shop program of President Duterte to hasten the delivery of medical services and give poor patients access to free medicine.
A fast lane prioritizing the senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) is also available. Under the program, patients are assisted in availing services and financial assistance provided by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), the Philippine Amusement and Games Corporation (PAGCOR), Department of Health (DoH), and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Go said the only requirement to avail the services of the Malasakit Center is that “you must be a Filipino citizen.”
He said the services in the Malasakit Center are for everybody and free citing there is no politics involved.
“Anyone who is sick can avail of the assistance at the center,” he emphasized.
He also visited the inpatients in wards after heading to his next appointment.
