Outgoing OIC-Chief Medical Professional Staff (CMPS), Dr. Dennis Z. Nagal, formally turned over the key of responsibility of the mentioned office to Dr. Aeesha M. Yahcob-Pingli, last June 4, 2021, at the ZCMC Administration Building lobby. Dr. Yahcob-Pingli, who was emotional in her acceptance speech, thanked the ZCMC personnel for the support and appreciation she was lavished with since she began her stint at the only tertiary multi-specialty hospital in the Zamboanga Peninsula. She also highlighted her career path decorated by both personal and professional inspirations.

 

The important occasion was keynoted by Atty. Yasser H. Apion, who expounded on “shepherd leadership”—breaking down its principles as applied in hospital governance. Atty. Apion also gave an ecumenical prayer, along with Fr. Ellery Roy Galvez, at the start of the ceremony. Those among who graced the ceremony were Dr. Afdal B. Kunting, Medical Center Chief II; Mr. Khadaffy Gacis, Head of the Budget Office; Ms. Ramona Rebelina T. Perez, Supervising Administrative Officer HRMO; Dr. Maria Louella C. Pondevida, Head, Outpatient Department; and Ms. Ma. May C. Yao, RN, MAN, OIC-Chief Nurse. Also putting in an appearance, via Zoom, were Dr. Soraya P. Abubakar, former CMPS of the hospital, and one of Dr. Yahcob-Pingli’s mentors; and Dr. Joshua G. Brillantes, OIC Director IV (DDH-ZPCHD). Dr. Abubakar gave an enlightening message that should help Dr. Yahcob-Pingli effectively discharge her roles and functions. Just before the ceremony ended, elected ZCMC personnel gave their respective well-wishes and heartfelt messages to the new CMPS.

 

The event’s master of ceremonies was Ms. Pamela T. Santos, an employee of the hospital’s Human Resource department. (CLP)
